Abraham Lincoln - 1862 or 1863

68. Taken by O. Pierre Havens in or near Washington in late 1862 or early 1863. In this rare candid photograph, Lincoln is seen visiting the troops defending the capital during the Civil War.

I love this photo. It's grainy but one can get a better feel of President Lincoln really looked. So many have said that he was no where near as homely as his sitting photos make him look. Since I was a girl, I've always thought him beautiful.
